Happy Holidays!

Thank You To All Those Who Read And Participated Here This Year… and Over the Last Five Years…

Boulder Courthouse Decked Out For The Holidays, Boulder, Colorado, December 2009 by David Leland Hyde. Nikon D90.

May the road rise to meet you, but not too fast.

May your turkey be large and satisfying.

May your dressing not be too fattening.

May you enjoy a full-body search at the airport.

May your friends and family gather ’round.

May you tip a glass together, but not too much.

May you finish your last minute shopping in time.

May you receive gifts you would rather keep than return.

May you remember and do something for someone less fortunate.

May Santa not get stuck in your chimney.

May your cat not get tangled in the Christmas tree or the Hanakkah candles.

May you revel in gadgets and cheap trinkets of all kinds.

May you also rise above materialism and find happiness in more meaningful things.

May you remember the true meaning of Christmas or whatever you celebrate.

May you be blessed in the New Year.

  9. Holiday Cheer, PJ. Thank you for your wisdom this year and for showing us that film photography still holds up just as well or better than digital landscapes.

Hi Monte, thank you for your input here this year and your inspiring photographs.

Hi Sharon, it has been a rewarding exchange. I feel like I am part of the Nantucket community from afar. Glad it has gone over to photography more than whaling these days.

Thank you Greg, and same to you. May there be much trafficking in photographs in the coming year.

Hey Richard, thank you for your insights and example in the photo blog world this year. I appreciate your contribution to my life and all the others we serve through these endeavors. If you carry a lot of lenses and other photo gear, you can practically guarantee a good time at airport security.

  13. Richard Wong says:

True about the airport security. When I was coming back from Alaska, they took my camera backpack aside, took everything out and swabbed it down because they thought there might be explosive powder in there. So weird.

  14. Hi Steve, Happy New Year. Thank you for reading and your involvement here this year. I appreciate the various pointers and items of interest you have shared.

I appreciate your readership, Peter. Exactly what you said. Peace and Good Will to All.

Hello Gordon, thank you neighbor for stopping by the blog here. Last night was a lot of fun. Good wine, superb food, and home-grown folk-rock-country-blue-grass-alternative-funk-jam-blues sometimes in the background and sometimes in the foreground, but always passionately expressed, even with a lot of talking, hanging out and food sampling in the kitchen and dining room. What a scene when Barney played that train song. Here he is wailing away on this giant acoustic base with Palmer, the harmonica pro playing those long, lonesome train notes, you on guitar, Danny on guitar, Gail singing, various others making a variety of rhythm sounds and me helping to keep time on that wooden train whistle or plunking around hitting the wrong notes on the Ukelele as a change in pace from guitar that I don’t really play either. I am lucky you allow me to join such a talented group. Even with my cacophonous contributions, it sounded great. A great holiday celebration.

Richard: It’s a Brave New World.
